The question that comes around every weekend: What are you playing? We at Press2Reset already know what we’ll be doing but how about you? Check out our staff’s picks for the weekend and let us know what you’ll be up to!
Nate Hales, @nhales80 – I will be spending more and more time with Tales of Graces f, as I try to figure out exactly what the heck is going on. It’s fun, so that’s encouraging. Also, after a lengthy discussion with my pal Nick at lunch, Skyrim has the opportunity to return to the rotation. I don’t know if I will, but it is a maybe. Heavy Rain falls into the maybe category, but I would like to finish it. Perhaps I should focus on finishing something? Of course there will be Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but that should go without saying at this point.
Richard Hayden, @HaydenOnP2R – The Mass Effect 3 multiplayer weekend (Operation Raptor) is going to get a certain amount of attention but, aside from that, it’ll be a trip down memory lane for me. I picked up the Tomb Raider Trilogy earlier this week and fancy solving those fiendish puzzles once more while spending a little time in the charming if pixelated company of Ms Croft. I’ve also managed to get Planescape: Torment to run on my Mac so I’m interested to see how it stacks up to its reputation.
James Gardiner, @keltar93 – This weekend should see me wrapping up my time with Metroid Prime, a game that time has been quite kind to. After that, I’ll likely be ready for a more grand undertaking, likely either The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker or Final Fantasy VI.
Phil Nachum, @philpee2 – I’l be finishing up Gears of War 3, which suffers from some of the worst dialog I’ve ever heard in a game developed by native English speakers. Other than that, I’ll hopefully take advantage of Mass Effect 3′s XP weekend, and maybe I’ll finish the DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Marcus Mac Dhonnágain, @M_M_DH – Aside from trying to get some school work done, I will be continuing on with my third (or is it fourth) playthrough of Grand Theft Auto 4: The Lost and the Damned. Recently I’ve been in the mood to watch/play anything that has something to do with the crime/gangster genre. I’ve been watching movies like Snatch, Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels and Miller’s Crossing, all of which have put me in the mood to play a game with similar themes. Playing as Johnny Klebitz in the Lost motorcycle gang was therefore a perfect choice. Rockstar’s narratives are all fantastically realized and no other developer, in my opinion, manages to translate crime genres into video games as well as they do.
Tony Zuniga, @Boots_33 - I may not game much this weekend. After gorging mself on ME3 for 3 weeks straight, I think I need a “detox” of sorts. That said, I have started a third run of Mass Effect 3 on Insanity, which is going to be divided into sparse play sessions. It’s frustrating. Between those chunks, I may get into more Fatal Frame 3 on the PS2 and possibly start on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow or get further into Dead Rising 2.
Aaron Carlisle, @acidbrn – I’ll be short on time for games this weekend, but having started up both I am Alive and Journey, I’ll try and split what time I do have between those two. Both downloadable titles continue to impress me every step of the way, whether it be the flowing sand dunes, or the race against the clock to survive. Each of the titles is a must play.
Aenne Schumann, @PeachyAenne – I’ll be saving the rest of Charlie’s family from the evil clutches of the Baron in Tim Schafer’s Stacking. I hope to beat it, but I still might be obsessed with Mass Effect. Recently, I started up a new character, from the very beginning. I tried to create a different unique female Shepard. However, it’s so hard to not be blonde femshep, she’s just too bad ass. I also hope to get in some more Mass Effect multiplayer this weekend. I really really really want a Turian!
Sean Knight, @SeanDKnight – It’s time that I take some shore leave from Star Trek: Online. I’m now in the mood to go skiiing and what better game to do that than Tribes: Ascend. I’ve been meaning to check this game out since Starsiege: Tribes is one of the greatest FPS games ever and one of my personal favorites. So now that Tribes: Ascend is in open beta I am hoping that it will be just as good as the original if not better. If not then…SHAZBOT!!!
Tramell Hawkins, @Hawkinsa1 – This weekend will be more Wakfu for me. Cute characters and turn-based combat with sandbox features make for an interesting game. If anyone is playing on the NA Nox server, look up Tramell . Aside from that I will probably work on a few multiplayer characters for the Mass Effect 3 weekend operation. I’ll also try to dive into Borderlands to prep for Pax East and getting some hands on time with Borderlands 2.
Randy Lamberson, @RandyOnP2R - After recently finishing Journey – one of the most stunning games to date – I have moved onto a couple less stunning games. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and Ninja Gaiden 3 will fill up my day time slots. While not the prettiest titles, they do offer a good amount of fun. Also one of the better 3DS titles to come out, Kid Icarus: Uprising will be taking up my night time slots as I prepare for the review next week.
