The question that comes around every weekend: What are you playing? We at Press2Reset already know what we’ll be doing but how about you? Check out our staff’s picks for the weekend and let us know what you’ll be up to!
Graham McCann, @GrahamSMcCann - This weekend I will be reviewing Naval War: Arctic Circle. I might also get time to play the HD port of Silent Hill 2 in the HD collection for PS3. So far, I am enjoying the new voice acting. The graphics look like the PS2, but the HD cleanup makes it nice, and definitely worth picking up if you are a Silent Hill fan. I tried the demo for Sniper Elite V2 for 360, and was blown away by how good it seems to be, so I may want to try more of that as well.
Sean Knight, @SeanDKnight - Rules of Acquisition #62: The Riskier the road, the greater the profit. I’ll be putting my ship and crew in extreme danger while playing Star Trek: Online this weekend. The plan is to go up against scores of enemy ships in an attempt to farm lockboxes that may give me a Ferengi Marauder ship. While it might be ugly, the ship itself is like having your own mini starbase. Hopefully I will get real lucky! But if I am not playing STO again then I will be checking out Sanctum which is a first-person shooter tower defense game.
Marcus Mac Dhonnágain, @M_M_DH - This weekend I wont be playing a tremendous amount. If I do, I’ll merely be dipping in and out of Brink‘s singleplayer campaign. Brink got a lot of flak when it released, and I don’t deny it has its problems, but there’s something about the squad-based combat I really enjoy. Having context and revolving objectives keeps the action fresh as well! Aside from Brink though, I may also complete a mission or two in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Chris Root - With my dog-sitting duties over, I plan to (finally) give The Witcher 2 the attention it deserves. That is if I can resist the siren call of FEZ. Oh, and I want to check out the multiplayer beta for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, too. Plus, I read about this experimental oral surgery I’m dying to try out on my neighbor’s hamster . . . it’s going to be a busy weekend . . .
Richard Hayden, @HaydenOnP2R - I’ve got it all going on this weekend. Somehow I have to find time for Fez, Witcher 2, Botanicula and the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta. Thankfully, BioWare are giving me a weekend off Mass Effect 3 multiplayer but I bet I look in on it anyway. You know, to make sure it’s behaving itself.
Sam Neal, @SnealIV - I rediscovered the wild west this Tuesday, and rekindled the campfire in my heart for Red Dead Redemption. So I plan on spending part of my weekend chasing down horses, gun-slinging with bandits, and robbing trains. There’s something about Westerns that appeals to my inner cowboy, and Red Dead Redemption strikes the tone perfectly. Also, if the US Postal Service finally gets its act together, I will finally begin my lengthy journey into The Witcher 2. Rain, sleet, snow, and hail are no problem; but trucking a video game out to the middle of Texas? That’s the one that trips them up.
Nate Hales, @nhales80 - I feel like a broken record, but it’s going to be a Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and Tales of Graces f kind of a weekend for me. Oh! And Minecraft with content overlord Marc. How could I forget that? Building stuff and defending structures from Creepers, Enderman, Spiders and Zombies. If I am lucky I will find a kitty to call my very own.
Phil Nachum, @philpee2 - I’ll spend most of my weekend slaying nekkers, ploughing women, and casting signs. Oh and maybe I’ll also play The Witcher 2. It’s nice to see an RPG with combat that’s legitimately challenging, but not as punishing or unfair as Dark Souls.
Aaron Carlisle, @acidbrn - Sadly with the lack of any interesting iOS games this week, I will instead be focusing my time on conquering Trails Evolution. When I’m not submitting myself to the abuse that RedLynx have laid upon me with their sequel, I will submit myself to the torture of driving home the point that I have no rhythm in Rhythm Heaven Fever for the Wii. In order to undermine the rage from all my rhythmless skills, I will spend time mindlessly shooting newbs in the Ghost Recon beta. If the time should present itself, I will try and get in more playtime with Pokemon x Nobunaga’s Ambition.
Randy Lamberson, @RandyOnP2R - I have the need to break every bone humanly possible this weekend. Not my own, I am talking about the poor soul in Trials Evolution who has worse luck than Issac Clark on a bad day. On top of that, I will be checking out Ghost Recon’s beta which I hear has some great potential. Other than that I will be playing a new racing game, in my new Camaro. Yeah I already received a Game Over when I got pulled over for speeding this week but thankfully I had a continue.
Tyler Zehner, @TylerZehner - With the game of life starting to balance out, I’m finally able to kick back and catch up on some long overdue gaming. While I was hoping to get my hands on The Witcher 2, I will have to settle with having my mind exploded by FEZ this weekend. As well as putting a wrap on the very awesome Corpse Party. OMG! It’s going to be awesome!
James Gardiner, @keltar93 - After starting it last summer, finishing around half and taking an extended break, and then coming back to it, it looks like I’ll finally be finishing Chrono Trigger. After that, it’s likely I’ll be dabbling in some smaller stuff. I’ll likely dabble in the brawler/RPG Will Fight For Food, as well as trying out some of Naval Warfare: Arctic Circle. Also, since I finally got it working, I might start LA Noire, though I’d guess the bulk of my time in that will wait until after summer break begins.
Marc Lynch, @MarcOnP2R - As finals fade into the recent past, it’s about time I finally got caught up on a few things. First, I have a number of projects that I need to complete in Minecraft with Nate, first of which will be finding him a pet cat (it shouldn’t take long). Next, I know there are lost treasures to be found out there in the desert so I’ll be spelunking and climbing about with a different Nate. Nathan Drake of Uncharted 3, that is. And finally, demons are on the loose in Tokyo, and it’s up to me to stop them in Devil Survivor Overclocked.
Tony Zuniga, @Boots_33 - After finally finishing Dead Rising 2, I’ve jumped back into my Mass Effect 3 Insanity run. It’s been fairly smooth so far thanks to Stasis Bubble. I’m not quite sure if anything else is on the menu, or what to even play. I have sooo many games in the backlog and can’t decide. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection looks inviting, though. Outside of that, I’ll just be watching all the hockey.
