The question that comes around every weekend: What are you playing? We at Press2Reset already know what we’ll be doing but how about you? Check out our staff’s picks for the weekend and let us know what you’ll be up to!
Richard Hayden, @HaydenOnP2R - Oh dear! I got a bit carried away while shopping for games this week and now find myself the proud owner of Max Payne 3 and Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. As well as these brand new titles, I also picked up Lost Odyssey, Dear Esther, Thief Gold and Star Wars – Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (it was on sale, okay?). As if that weren’t enough gaming to keep me busy, I still haven’t finished Witcher 2, and Minecraft continues to demand my attention. And, on top of all that, the fine folks at Muse Games have invited me to join them in the Guns of Icarus Online beta this weekend. Somewhen, amid all that I hope to sleep and maybe eat. Maybe.
Chris Root - I will be spending a lot of this weekend donning optical stealth camouflage and going for coordinated kills in the very fun, but clunkily titled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Of course, I’ll also be spending some time running around in the much more frenetically paced Max Payne 3 multiplayer, along with a lot of the P2R staff. Care to join us? The Press2Reset crew is recruiting! Enlist today, and we’ll see you in the Favelas! http://socialclub.
Phil Nachum, @philpee2 - This year’s release scheduled has finally slowed down a bit, giving me some time to go back to some games from last year that I never got around to. I just picked up Saints Row: The Third and Batman: Arkham City. Looking forward to giving them both a try.
Nate Hales, @nhales80 - There is a Mass Effect 3 operation this weekend so I will be participating in that for sure. Also, I am now fully engrossed in The Last Story and the complete lack of motion controls is only making it more fun. However, on the motion control front, I am also playing Sorcery for the PS3. Plus there is also Diablo 3 and Minecraft… holy crap… that is a lot of games. I had no idea I was up to so much. Good thing it’s a long weekend.
Aaron Carlisle, @acidbrn - My addiction for bullet-hell continues as I sink more time into the latest Cave game to make its way over seas, Akai Katana. When I’m not zoning out playing through waves of pink bullets, I’ll be making my way through bullets of another kind as I continue to leave a trail of bodies in Max Payne 3. A rekindled love for comics thanks to Marvel Zombies may steal a bit of my weekend away as I mentally prepare myself for Chernobyl Diaries. The comics and movie are to prepare me for a return to the zombies of Call of Duty: Black Ops in the near future.
Be sure to catch me and the others from P2R in a few rounds of Max Payne 3: http://socialclub.
Sean Knight, @SeanDKnight - ”Stand and be recognized! Are you friend or foe? Friend or foe!?” Yep, I’ll be all sorts of paranoid as I try to avoid anyone and any zombie while I play Day Z over the weekend. The game has become even tougher now that my character can get sick if he doesn’t stay warm. Surviving the zombie apocalypse is a lot harder than you think where it’s player vs environment vs player and food, water, and equipment are scarce. Especially when you are in Chernarus.
Anton Wegenast, @VirusSixZero - This weekend I hope to sit down with Mass Effect 3. What will probably happen is I will end up playing with the new kid on the block, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I may dabble in Diablo 3 as well if I hear calls to arms sent from my friends who are much deeper into Hell than I am. My backlog is much larger than that, but realistically, that’s what I will play this weekend.
Tyler Zehner, @TylerZehner - With Capcom’s release of Dragon’s Dogma, I will be spending most of my time honing the skills needed to climb every mythical beast in that game. The rest of my time will be spent throwing Max Payne down and over a variety of stairs and railings. You judge… but you all do it too.
Aenne Schumann, @PeachyAenne - Well, I’m still slaying demons along with the Templar in Diablo 3 and I think I will continue to do that most of the weekend. I’ll also be finishing up The Dream Machine, a radical point and click done in claymation. Although, since I started playing I have been having the weirdest dreams! Other than that I will be enjoying my four day weekend!
James Gardiner, @keltar93 - Since I got my copy repaired, I’ll be working my way through Battlefield Bad Company 2, a slightly more tongue in cheek military shooter compared to some of its contemporaries. I’ve also started playing Super Monday Night Combat- while it was first just to unlock hats for Team Fortress 2, I’m now quite enjoying it as a fun introduction to the MOBA genre.
Melissa Kay, @THEquadskater - After spending hours fiddling with my rig, I think I finally have my PC in top condition for some first-class smuggling. My Twi’lek gunslinger, Mel’issa, has some unfinished business on Tattooine. Besides reacquainting myself with the SWTOR universe I’ll probably spend some time playing ME3 Multiplayer (pending I have a fantastic group of people to play with). I’ll also be reading Sailor Moon vol.5 and trying to finish Mockingjay.
Graham McCann, @GrahamSMcCann - I am definitely playing Diablo III. The game is awesome. And F.3.A.R. and maybe Arkham Asylum to (finally) finish it.
Marc Lynch, @MarcOnP2R - I’ll definitely be delving deeper into Hell in Diablo III. I’ll likely be looking to expand into other classes to see how they handle too! Beyond that, I have Game of Thrones to continue playing and the siren song of Minecraft is never easy to resist. I just want to build all the things!
