World War II tank combat game now features UK armor
The armored warfare game World of Tanks is being updated to Version 8.1, which will add a line of 22 British tanks to the fray, allowing players to battle for supremacy on treads and wheels via their PC.
Developer Wargaming.net is adding the UK’s armoured forces, introducing new tanks that range in size from small skirmishers to rolling heavyweights.
Those looking for a small profile will want to hop into the Vickers Medium Mk I. Centurion tanks Mk I-IX will be featured, as well as the Matilda and Churchill models. The brawn of the UK will be the FV214 Conqueror, allowing players to command the legendary behemoth. On top of all this Wargaming says that the British arsenal will be later reinforced with self-propelled guns and tank destroyers.
World of Tanks producer Mike Zhivets expressed his enthusiasm for the update when he said, “The Brits invented the first tank, pioneering the evolution of the whole industry, and it’s an honor for us to greet them in World of Tanks. They are so close, you can hear their tracks rolling!”
The 8.1 update also tweaks the lighting and rendering on a selection of maps and tanks already in the game.
