Two modes and two maps to be available a fortnight ahead of retail release
Been itching to get your hands on the next entry in Crytek‘s Crysis franchise? Well rest at ease because the developer has confirmed that a multiplayer beta for the Crysis 3 will start on January 29, and will be available to gamers on the 360, PS3, and PC.
Launching two weeks ahead of the retail release, the beta will feature access to two of the games maps and also to two of the eight modes – Hunter mode, which is making its debut, and Crash Site.
Hunter mode is a time-based mode that pits two players in the role of cloaked hunters against ten CELL troopers. The Hunters are equipped with enhanced Nanosuits and armed with a Predator bow. As the name suggests, these two players must then head out and hunt the opposing team down. As those CELL players are eliminated they then join the ranks of the hunters to stalk and kill their prey.
Crash Site, a team-based objective mode, has players competing to capture and hold designated points of interest from the opposing team. Points are then distributed based on the number of kills received and for successfully holding off the other team.
As far as maps go the beta contains two of the game’s 12 locations, which vary very from lush urban jungles to packed museums.
Gamers can get their hands on the full game on February 19 in North America and on February 21 in Europe.
