Stretch goals add new platforms and game features
The Kickstarter campaign for the City of Titans MMO has concluded with developer Missing Worlds Media receiving pledges for $678,189, more than double its initial target of $320,000.
Touted as the spiritual successor to NCSoft’s cancelled superhero MMO City of Heroes, the project was supported by 5,003 backers.
The extra funds allowed the Missing Worlds Media development team to hit a number of stretch goals. Passing the $350,000 mark means an Android port of the Avatar Builder will be made. Reaching $400,000 saw the developers commit to making an iOS port of the builder. At $450,000, another platform was added to support, with a MacOS version set to be available at launch.
Further stretch goals added game features with $500,000 unlocking travel powers and mount options, $550,000 adding wings and wing sets, $600,000 bringing five primary power sets, and $650,000 providing two additional costume sets on release.
City of Titans will be offered as a digital-only title that requires gamers to purchase it in order to play. After the one-off fee, the game will be nominally free-to-play, although a subscription model will also be available in addition to a cash shop for micro-transactions.
No target date was provided as to when the MMORPG will be launched.
