The Xbox One will go on sale for $349 on January 16

After a successful pair of months at the end of 2014, Microsoft has decided to offer a new promotion in the USA for the Xbox One. In a post on Xbox Wire, Xbox fans were thanked for their support of the console and those who have yet to purchase the console were invited to consider it.

Corporate vice president of marketing for Xbox Mike Nichols said in a statement, “Building off a record-setting holiday, we are excited to announce a new promotion in which fans in the US can buy an Xbox One at a special price of $349, starting tomorrow, January 16, from their preferred retailer. We are thankful for all the excitement for Xbox One this holiday and proud to offer more fans the amazing games lineup, Xbox Live gaming community, and continual innovation that Xbox One fans have come to enjoy.”

Some other metrics from 2014 were also shared, including the fact that users logged almost eight billion hours across the world between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
